What happened at the studio?

The whole plot of Bendy and The Ink Machine sets off at an abandoned animation studio where the protagonist, a former animator named Henry, returns after many years. He hasn’t been around for decades when he suddenly received an invitation back to his old job. However, when he arrived to the address, he discovered that the building is desolate and empty. He found no traces of the company or the staff – just chaos in place of what he remembered as a bustling office. To his surprise he also found out that his creations were safe and sound. Moreover, they are alive! And moreover, they are very angry that he left them. Now they are driven by the desire to avenge their sad fate, so prepare to be chased and hunted!

Of course, they won’t start doing it right away. At the beginning, you will be confused and hardly able to figure out what happened here. You’ll have to walk around the building, explore it, look into different rooms and carefully check everything that you are going to find inside. Putting together pieces of information, namely from old records, you will be able to restore a creepy chain of events that led to the studio being like this and you being here, as well as make some prognoses as to your own future if you don’t find a way out…

As you progress through the game, you’ll discover that the studio director got really fascinated with occult stuff. Somehow he managed to breathe life into the ink machine, and it turned out to be evil. So all the drawings it produced appeared to be bloodthirsty monsters. They apparently killed all the employees and maybe even the director himself. Now Henry has to save his skin in this grim animated hell and stay particularly careful of Bendy, one of the studio’s iconic characters that is omnipresent and especially dangerous.
